about
CO-FOUNDER & ENGAGEMENT DIRECTOR

hey there!

I’m Jennifer (those nearest and dearest to me call me Jen) and I represent the Maude half of the LEO & MAUDE team.

Who am I?

Most days you can find me working at my full-time job, creating content for this amazing blog (what? It IS amazing – wouldn’t you agree?), reading, listening to a podcast, exercising at the gym, going for walks on my lunch hour, spending time with my handsome, hardworking, rock ‘n roll husband, enjoying my four kids who are all grown and out of the house, my two beautiful step-daughters, laughing with my girlfriends, catching up with one of my 9 siblings (yes, I am one of ten kids!), deciding which creative project I am going to undertake next or perusing the latest beauty and fashion trends that will make me feel as beautiful on the outside as I feel on the inside. Cue circus music please!

The details.

People often refer to me as someone who believes anything is possible. I truly believe that people are inherently good. I am a good listener and was born a generally positive person. I try to look at things from different angles and try to think outside the box to make things work. Why? Because who wants to live life inside a box with limitations? Not me!

I would say that I am mostly known for my height and my humor. I am a proud six-foot-tall, confident woman who isn’t afraid to wear heels…because I come down to earth for no man! My humor is something that I learned from my father. He was the oldest of three kids and lost both his parents by the time he was thirteen, so he had to watch out for his two sisters. He learned at a young age that you can either suffer or find the lighter side of life. He always filled every room with so much laughter. I was blessed to have been raised with this philosophy and anyone will tell you that the “Welsh kids” all had a unique sense of humor.  My father was my biggest champion and one of my biggest inspirations.

I love serving the world through my work in local government, and through my work as a mother, raising four happy, healthy, productive members of society (something I personally think makes me qualified to negotiate world peace). I am embarking on this blogging journey, with my soul sister Amanda, to motivate and inspire women to be the best version of themselves. That is one of the best ways I can think of to serve the world and leave this place better than I found it.

The thing I am most passionate about in life is love. I got married in November 2020 and I firmly believe that when you love passionately and without abandon, it’s like viewing the world through technicolor glasses. I am also passionate about family, my kids, beauty, fashion, fitness, health, wellness, traveling and binge watching a great new series. I couldn’t do any of this without having someone like Amanda in my life. To commiserate and share the passion and excitement for all the things I love, and to bounce ideas off of. She makes my life more fun. Hence, LEO & MAUDE!

I strive to inspire people who yearn to live a more present, full life so they can create a life filled with hope and possibility to make all their dreams come true.  I feel so blessed to have this platform to share the tools that I have learned, and share the different ways that I have healed from tragedy and have found strength, hope and love in my own life.

Fun Fact No. 1
I think farts are hilarious! Remind me to tell you about my 40th Birthday cruise with my girlfriends. We had most of the cruise ship in hysterics over our fart machine antics.
Fun Fact No. 2
Amanda and I are huge fans of the Bachelor and Bachelorette TV series. We may have been known to have our own rose ceremonies a time or two.
Fun Fact No. 3
I am a baby whisperer. Seriously. I LOVE holding babies and can soothe almost any crying infant.
Fun Fact No. 4
I survived a divorce and found love again.
Fun Fact No. 5
At last count, I have over 57 pairs of shoes in my closet(s). Shall we start calling me Imelda Pittenger? Bonus fun fact: my Mom’s middle name is Imedla!

The history.

I was born in Salt Lake City, Utah and I am the fifth oldest of ten kids.  I left home at 18 to be a nanny in Boston for what was supposed to be a year and wound up signing with a modeling agency and began pursuing a career working as a professional print and runway model.

While trying to support my “modeling habit”,  I worked in multiple sales roles, property management, administration and even had a stint in the beauty industry. I was also a makeup artist, owned my own scrapbooking business, founded my own Image Consulting Company, worked as a Congressional staffer, was a Communications and Community Outreach Coordinator, ran a local election campaign as Campaign Manager and now I am currently working in local government.

As you can see, I’ve worn many hats and have had some amazing adventures through it all. I have taken all of the skills that I have acquired and am bringing them to this opportunity of a lifetime – to share my experience, strength and hope with all of you in the hopes of creating an epic community of support and love.
