If you are a fellow dog lover, I am sure you have a laundry list of products that you would dub “essential” for a smooth pet-owning operation. Don’t we all? Here I have rounded up a few of my favorites, and a few of the things that get my two pups over-the-moon-excited. For all that our furry best friends do for us, our dogs only deserve the best of the best, right?

Charlee Bears, IYKYK. Our household does not function properly without a steady, unrelenting supply of these little treats. The Yorkies go wild for them, and the sound of Marley’s little teeth crunching them is pure bliss. If your pup likes at least 1,000 treats a day like ours do, get some Charlee Bears!

These poop bags are the sh*t. Why? Because they are pleasantly scented with lavender and are not hard to open like all other bags on the market. They are also made from 65% certified post-consumer recycled plastic and the cores are cardboard, making the inevitable use of this single-use plastic feel a little less sh*tty.

Dogs are messy, it’s inevitable. Whether wiping their muddy paws or picking a dingle-berry from their butt, a good grooming wipe is essential. We always keep these cruelty-free favorites on hand, and while we don’t use them everyday, they are great for our pups’ unexpected messes.

Okay, how adorable are these? I’m a big believer that your pet products don’t have to be big eye sores in your home and these mats are perfect for any home decor style. I personally flip it over so the words don’t show, and they look great while also catching water and food spills. Win, win.

Not to put the geri-dog on blast here, but accidents are inevitable with our little old Alfie and having the ability to deep clean them on the spot gives us great piece of mind. We have had this since Marley was a puppy and it has worked great on everything from the carpets of our apartment to the rugs of our current home.

A No-Frills staple for walks
What would a list of pet products be without a leash? There is honestly nothing super special about this one, but the mesh is a nice alternative to a rope leash. It’s lighter weight and comfortable to hold, no rope burns. It’s washable, which we love for our beach walks.

My human body loves a daily dose of probiotics, so we started giving these to our dogs every day as well. Since our dogs are small breeds, their digestive systems can easily get out of whack and we have found that a consistent, routine diet helps the most. These have been easily incorporated into that repertoire.

If you ever take your dog on long road trips, you should have one of these. You never know what can happen on the road (knocks on wood), and the thought of our dogs running away in the event of an accident is terrifying to me. So we buckle them in. It helps keep their little bodies from sliding off the leather seats, too.
