What are Daily affirmations?
Are you asking yourself “what are daily affirmations?” If so, you are in the right place! Psychology Today describes affirmations as “short statements that are said aloud or to oneself regularly” and “are any act that underscores one’s adequacy and reaffirms one’s sense of self-integrity.” Basically, they are positive phrases that you can repeat multiple times throughout the day to help transform your mindset to make you feel better about yourself and your life.
How To Use Affirmations
The idea of daily affirmations sounds great, doesn’t it? But now you may be wondering how you can implement the practice into your life. Fortunately, the answer is simple! First, you will create a list of affirmations (I have helped you out by listing my favorites below). Second, you repeat them! Here are some of the popular repetition strategies that I know of:
- Say them aloud (look in the mirror if you are comfortable)
- Repeat them in your mind to yourself
- Write them down (great for visualization)
Some people keep an affirmation journal, others put theirs on a post-it that sticks to their bathroom mirror. You can combine your affirmations with a morning ritual, or keep your daily repetition as a standalone practice. Personally, I speak each of my daily affirmations into my mind three times each, twice a day. Whatever you choose, try to squeeze in your daily affirmations as consistently and persistently as possible.
TWENTY Affirmations To Repeat
Time to dive in to the daily affirmations themselves. I have curated a list of all those that I think are worthy of adding to your daily routine. Bookmark this page, write them down, or save each of the graphics to add to an album in your photos app. Feel free to use them all or pick and choose the ones that resonate with you most. The more you repeat these positive statements, the more conditioned your mind will be to think that way, and the more likely it will be for you to have those thoughts in the future.

There is mixed research and opinions about this practice and Self-Affirmation Theory, but I truly believe in the power of speaking things into the universe and the power of positive thinking. Law of Attraction, baby!
If you, like me, struggle with self-esteem and negative self-talk, I encourage you to find affirmations that speak to your soul in an uplifting manner. There’s a reason why “I am beautiful” is not on my affirmation list. I know that repeating that on specifically bad mental health days may cause more harm than good. Have fun finding the daily affirmations that bring light into your heart or try your hand at writing your own.
